Aurora, IL Neighborhood
Real Estate
As the third largest city in Illinois, Aurora has a large number of diverse neighborhoods and subdivisions. The older neighborhoods have areas loosely defined by street boundaries. The newer areas are usually specifically defined by the original developer. These more modern Aurora subdivisions lie primarily more around the perimeter of the city.
The closer in to the central city, the older the neighborhood/subdivision will be. The further from the center city, the newer the neighborhoods will be (generally).
The newest subdivisions are presently being built mostly on the far west side of town, often centered around Orchard rd. The other area with substantial new construction is on the southern border of Aurora primarily on the east side - toward Naperville.
